Description
manberry1@gmail.com Lush Vines and Deviant Things is a large abstract expressionist painting measuring 224 x 142 x 3 cm. It is painted on two separate panels (diptych). Each panel measures 112 x 142 x 3cm.
As daylight ebbs, colours become sublime. Sun rays cast an orange glow over land. I shield my eyes. I am astonished. Green has become emerald, blue is dazzling. I suck in my breath, this world is heavenly. I am nowhere special, I am walking in my garden, but this place is divine. Lit by an ethereal light the garden sings. Wild roses, overgrown and neglected are lush. Dandelions like flecks of gold scatter the grass. Creeping vines strain towards the jeweled sky before darkness falls. It feels enchanted. The wild beauty of these deviant things is astounding.
There is beauty in every corner and my inspiration for this painting was to capture the wild beauty of a neglected hedgerow in my garden. Lit by the golden light of a setting sun I wanted the light to be bold and fierce, capturing a window onto a moment of time where I was dazzled. I wanted to create an abstract symphony which reflected the colours I saw. Hidden within this abstract painting is a garden, wild and overgrown, but sublime. I wanted the viewer to be met with a wall of colour to make them suck in their breath, but then to exhale and see more. The beautiful, ghostly wild roses, the fierce yellow of the dandelions and the graceful elegance of the butterflies. This painting is large and brings a window into a room of a wild untamed corner of a garden. Lush Vines and Deviant Things has black boxed edges and is ready to hang.
