Food for bees and butterflies, acrylic, oil and enamel on canvas, 120 x 70 x 4 cm. Food for bees and butterflies, golden yellow sun, lazy summer evenings. Bold pink hollyhocks sway in the breeze. A dance of bees and butterflies flitting in their wake. Hungry for food. Nectar lust. Food for bees and butterflies. Inspired two fold ,by golden summer evenings and a post on facebook by my nephew on the plight of honeybees, which are now endangered, I wanted to capture honey gold light and create a perfect nectar filled garden for honeybees and butterflies. Food for bees and butterflies has been coated with a satin varnish and is ready to hang.
