Description
The Tender Love of Wild Things is a large painting on two panels, (Diptych). Each panel measures 80 x 100 x 1cm giving a total image size of 160 x 100 x 1cm. I am constantly inspired by nature. Nature reflects who we are as people and the love and protection of a leopard for her cubs mimics the Love of a mother for her children. A deep primal instinct to protect, nurture and teach courses through blood. I wanted to create an abstract jungle, fierce and wild. Camouflaged within this, mimicking how nature camouflages these majestic cats are Leopards. When the viewer initially sees the painting the cats appear from the undergrowth. I wanted the painting to hold the eye, for images to be seen then fade back into the feral landscape. Delicate butterflies hover over the wilderness, beautiful flowers are suggested in the abstract colour and form. The Tender Love of Wild Things has been coated with satin varnish to protect the pigments and has black boxed edges. It has mirror plates ready to hang.
