I look at the hillside, scattered colour, a riot of flowers. Blinded by the light, my vision blurs, sundazed. The abundance of wildflowers on the hillside near my home inspired me to paint Sundaze. I wanted to create a painting which was more than the wild landscape, I wanted it to suggest the sun in my eyes and the wind in the sky. A moment when you see but are blinded by light. Colours merge and blur, light spots swim on the retina. A beautiful sunny day, intoxicated by the scent of the wild lavender and thyme, relaxed and chilled, Sundaze
